Alexis Ludwig Leroy

Founder - Equiterra Capital

Alexis Ludwig Leroy is an impact entrepreneur and climate-finance strategist with nearly two decades of experience in international environmental markets, sustainability frameworks and cross-border project development. He is the Founder of Equiterra Capital, an international advisory and environmental asset platform dedicated to aligning capital, environmental markets, and sovereign development priorities through disciplined financial architecture and high-integrity market mechanisms.

Prior to launching Equiterra Capital, Alexis founded and led ALLCOT, a pioneering climate and environmental services firm operating across Latin America, Africa, and Europe. Under his leadership, ALLCOT structured and implemented large-scale initiatives including afforestation and reforestation programs, mangrove restoration, improved cookstove distribution, methane capture, renewable energy deployment and community-based conservation projects. These initiatives mobilised significant volumes of climate and impact finance while engaging governmental authorities, institutional investors and thousands of local beneficiaries.

Alexis has been an early and consistent contributor to the development and structuring of Article 6–aligned projects under the Paris Agreement, helping advance practical frameworks for sovereign participation in international carbon cooperation mechanisms. He is closely associated with the development of the “Carbon Markets for Global Equity” (CM4GE) concept — a governance-focused approach advocating fair value distribution, sovereign ownership, and transparent financial architecture within environmental credit systems. His work integrates public policy, private capital and on-the-ground execution, positioning environmental assets as instruments of economic inclusion, resilience, and long-term national development.

Beyond his entrepreneurial activities, Alexis has held multiple industry leadership and governance roles. He is a Co-Founder of Sport and Sustainability International (SANDSI), an organization leveraging the influence of sport to promote sustainable and healthy communities. He has served on the Board of the Climate Market and Investment Association (CMIA) and led for several years the Latin American Carbon Group of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA). He also served as Co-Chair of the Business Partnership for Market Implementation (BPMI) Working Group at IETA, in coordination with the World Bank, contributing to international dialogue and institutional capacity building around carbon market infrastructure.

Alexis has actively participated in United Nations Climate Change Conferences (COP) and major global environmental finance platforms, contributing to discussions on Article 6 implementation, environmental credit integrity, and cross-border cooperation. He is widely regarded as a thought leader within professional communities focused on carbon markets, biodiversity finance, and sustainable development.

Through Equiterra Capital, he now integrates environmental asset trading, project origination, and sovereign-level strategic advisory services under a unified platform designed to accelerate responsible capital deployment into climate-aligned and nature-positive assets worldwide. His professional trajectory reflects a sustained commitment built over almost two decades to transparency, institutional rigor and the creation of financial ecosystems that generate measurable environmental, social and economic value.
