Dr. Jindra Cekan/ová

President, Valuing Voices

Jindra Monique Čekan/ová, Ph.D. trained at the Fletcher School (Tufts, Harvard and Cambridge Universities) is a political economist with 37 years of experience in international development with a focus on sustainability. She has learned from villagers, businesspeople and ministers in 32 countries in Africa, Latin America/ Caribbean, Asia, and Central Asia. She has consulted to a wide array of clients, from International organizations such as the Red Cross/ Crescent Movement, Multilateral organizations climate funds such as the Adaptation Fund and the Climate Investment Fund, Foundations such as Gates, Rockefeller and Aga Khan and a wide array of international non-profits.

Her firm, Valuing Voices at Cekan Consulting focuses on showing Global North and South clients about sustained and emerging outcomes, including resilience, years after projects close, and before they do, with a network of national consultants. Jindra also runs a 535-hectare Czech family forest, is a mother, Buddhist and loves giraffes.
