Timo Löyttyniemi is the former CEO for the State Pension Fund in Finland. He is currently a Professor of Practice at Aalto University School of Business (Finance) and is sitting on the Board of Directors for Solidium Plc which is a sovereign investor for stock-exchange listed state-owned enterprises in Finland.
Previously he served as the Vice Chair for the Single Resolution Board (SRB) of the European Union during 2015-2019 in Brussels. As Vice Chair he was leading the setting up of the Single Resolution Fund (SRF), which currently manages around 80 billion euros as a sovereign investor in the European Banking Union. During his career he has worked in the areas of corporate finance and asset management. He has also been a member of a number of investment committees and board of directors in corporations and foundations.
His educational background is a PhD in Economics (Aalto University) and he has been a visiting researcher at Georgetown University. Currently he is lecturing and advising in the topics of financial stability, corporate governance and investments.
